He loved everything about it. I was pleased with the variety but disappointed that a man crate has such wimpy portions.

My brother drives for a living, and is diabetic, so a high-protein gift of exotic, non-beef jerkys was great! I'd have liked to have had the option to purchase a larger crate, because it seemed that some flavors only came in a single stick. And, oh, that crate! There was some sisterly satisfaction in watching my little brother work so hard to get the darn thing open, but that pry bar does not cut it. What if the crate had contained glass?! Oh, but we DID have a barware man crate gift to present to another relative, so my brother's crate was instructive. We knew to be extra careful with that "fragile" crate!

Ordered the Exotic Meats crate for my dad for Christmas. He loved it. From the webiste its kind of hard to tell the actual size of the container your getting. Maybe mention the dimensions on website? None the less, dad loved it. I'd buy these again most definitely.

It was an awesome product to give as a gift. Especially if you can watch it being opened. I got the duct tape wrapping and it was worth the extra money. The jerky tastes great. The only thing is I feel like you should get a little bit more for the money you pay. I understand that it is exotic jerky and its not cheap to begin with. But I feel like for 100 bucks you should get a little bit more. But other than that, this is awesome. I will most likely be ordering from Mancrates again

I ordered the Exotic meats crate for a friend who works with me. He really liked most of it, but mentioned that some of the jerky was really dry.
Overall, it was a big hit. Also ordered a crate for our son for his B.D. Waiting to see how he likes it.

Crate was fun to get in to and most of the meats were delicious but a few of them were spoiled. Checked with a few other people and everyone confirmed that a few items were old and should be discarded. For the price they should at least all be be edible. Was a great present to receive but I wouldn't pay for it myself after working through this crate.

I was excited to have my man struggle to get the crate open but it took him 15 seconds because it was not glued shut. Not a very good challenge. He said the beef jerky was good. I don’t think it was worth the price. I probably wouldn’t buy one again

My boys were so excited to give as a Father's Day gift. The crate wasn't even sealed making for a huge disappointed when opening. This really was the reason we bought the product, to watch him struggle to get in. On the bright side my husband loved the meat.

I bought 3 of these crates cowboy and exotic. One didn’t have duct tape and were not hard to open. Also thought that the exotic one would be fuller with contents.

I had emailed to ask if there was a way to know at what time the crate would be delivered on the date I specified(since recipient is on night shifts). The response was only that fedex delivered during normal business hours(duh). I got an email yesterday that it shipped and I was able to set up notifications through Fedex. The date I chose was as close to Christmas as possible as he is hundreds of miles from home and it was a Christmas gift. THE CRATE CAME A DAY EARLIER THAN I ASKED FOR. He was literally walking out the door to leave when it was delivered so we got lucky. Also the crate took him all of 45sec to open and the “exotic” meat sticks all include beef along with the exotic meat( so probably mostly beef). So it was a nice idea but I likely won’t be ordering one of these again.

I had been looking for a gift on this website for my fiance and read great reviews about this crate. When it arrived I was surprised how small it was. He did like the gift however once I told him how much I spent he felt I overpaid. The quality of meat was nothing over the top and for the small amount in the crate he couldn't believe how much I spent.

I would still buy from this website just not this crate again.

I received this for Christmas from my wife and it was for sure a cool surprise. I was excited as I love jerky and the wood box adds a level of coolness. Beyond that it does not live up to the hype. The elk and venison jerky were good but nothing to write home about. The Daves Meat & Nuts brand jerkys in this box were just plain awful. After shipping and tax this box cost my wife $150. You can get all the packs offered for less than $50 as there isn't anything in there that's exotic or hard to find. You can find several ways to pack these up just as nice and save yourself the $60 for the wood crate and pry bar. Which you will probably toss in the garbage when your done.

I got this as a gift for my husband. He was not impressed. This wasn't exotic to him and he expected it to be a little more rustic. Overall it wasn't worth $128 total.

My husband liked the idea, but for $109 there was not that much meat. I wont be ordering again.

I bought this for the experience, although opening up the glue top was not so much of an experience. Come on guys, put some damn nails into it or something! $100+ for a few sticks of meat is outrageous. Their products could easily drop $25-$30 and I know it would sell like hotcakes. I've had about 10 friends ask where I got my crate and as soon as I said it was a hundred bucks... All lost interest and the subject changed. Not only would all of my friends, colleagues, and family buy a lot of your products if they were cheaper, but I'd buy these for every graduation, birthday, or gift for all my sons and grandsons. Significantly drop your price, and I will be back.

Ordered this as a surprise for my boyfriend who is the epitome of a manly man. Senate is in session and I thought it would be fun to have it delivered to him in the crate and I had duct tape added. Turns out it was evidently just a pain in the butt to open in his office when he received it today. Spent $110+ but not my finest moment.

My girlfriend got this for me as a Vday gift, contents tasted good, but for $100 i could have gotten much more for the money. Awesome surprise on her part, but i felt bad that she spent so much on this.

I bought this for my husband for Valentine's day. It came a day early, which was fine with me. The meats weren't all that great.... wish I could get a full refund, wasn't even worth half of what I spent. Pretty fun to watch him open it but he didn't enjoy the contents.

The fun of opening the crate was great, but what you actually get out of this one isn't really worth the money. I'd rather I'd went with a cheaper option and saved almost half the cost. It's definitely a neat idea, but this one kinda wasn't worth it.

The jerky is good, but for the price the amount received is really poor. The profit margin on this is huge. Neat concept...go build a crate for $5 and buy $95 worth of jerky locally and will have a better gift.

The box was as good as advertised. I ordered this for my brothers for Christmas. The crate itself was fun to watch them open and we shared great stories while passing around the jerky.

The "duct tape" option is a waste of money. They only duct tape the shipping box. With a knife, it took them 3 seconds. I actually thought FedEx duct taped the outside because normal packages are shipped that way. Waste of money as a piece of packing tape would have been just as effective. I thought they would duct tape the crate making it more of a challenge.

I got this box for my dad last Christmas. I wanted something different and to top the Foo Fighters tickets I got him the year prior. After researching "unique" men's Christmas gifts I stumbled here. I looked throughout the gift selections, and chose this one.

When I gifted it to him I will not lie it was amusing to see him open the crate (hence the two stars) but the jerky just seems like an after thought to the crate. After amazon hunting all the products I realized the products total about $40 and the remaining would be the crate and small crowbar. Highly disappointing.

It was an excellent idea and the gift itself was unique. I was super excited to give it to my brothers. We have had an ongoing tradition of trying to find new ways to keep people from opening their gifts. No tools are allowed! I was thrilled to find a gift that was super duct taped. However, I was really disappointed in the amount of duct tape used for $10. It was so easy for them to get into (I would have gotten better duct tape results out of my kindergarten class or could have used a whole roll of duct tape myself for less money). I also didn't expect to see so little in the packaging for the cost. The jerky was AMAZING! However, there wasn't much there. The gift was a hit, but it made me look cheap with the lack of items inside. Great idea, needs more work on packaging for harder entry and could have more products or bigger bags of jerky.

Over- priced! I expected more

My husband thought it was neat but I was disappointed in the size and how much actually came in the crate. I thought it would have been full but there wasn't much in there for over $100. I do not know if I would order one again.
